Moving Into Seraphina: The Beginning of Our Full-Time RV Adventure

There comes a point when dreaming about something isn't enough anymore.
For us, that moment arrived when we made the decision to move into our Brinkley Z3515, affectionately named Seraphina, and embrace full-time RV living.
After years of planning, researching, learning, and imagining what life on the road could look like, we finally took the leap. While many people see an RV as a vacation vehicle, we now see Seraphina as home.
Meet Seraphina
Seraphina is a 2026 Brinkley Model Z3515 fifth wheel that instantly felt different from every other RV we toured. The quality, thoughtful design, residential feel, dedicated office space, and attention to detail made it stand out from the crowd.
As we began preparing for full-time living, we quickly realized that comfort matters. When your RV becomes your home, every system, every storage compartment, and every feature becomes important.
The spacious living area, large kitchen, dedicated office space, and comfortable bedroom made Seraphina the perfect choice for our next chapter.
She isn't just an RV.

Meet Big Red
Of course, every great fifth wheel needs a capable tow vehicle.
Our tow vehicle is a 2022 Ford F-350 Lariat dually that we call Big Red.
Big Red provides the confidence and capability needed to safely tow a nearly 40-foot fifth wheel across the country. From mountain passes to interstate highways, having the right truck makes all the difference.
Over time, I've learned that towing isn't just about horsepower. It's about stability, braking, safety, and peace of mind.
When Seraphina is connected behind Big Red, we're ready to go wherever the road leads.
Building a Reliable Full-Time Setup
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that successful RV living isn't about having the most expensive equipment.
It's about having reliable equipment.
As we settled into full-time life, there were several products that quickly became essential parts of our setup.
The Hitch That Connects It All
When you're towing nearly 40 feet of fifth-wheel luxury, confidence matters.
One of the best investments we've made is our B&W fifth-wheel hitch.

A quick note about fifth-wheel hitches: Not every hitch fits every truck. Fifth-wheel hitches are often designed for specific truck manufacturers, bed configurations, factory puck systems, and model years. Before purchasing a hitch, always verify compatibility with your truck's make, model, year, towing capacity, and bed setup. What works perfectly for Big Red, our 2022 Ford F-350 dually, may not be the right solution for another truck.

We chose the Hughes Power Watchdog surge protector. It helps protect Seraphina from electrical issues that can occur at campgrounds and gives us peace of mind wherever we stay.

Pro Tip: No matter which brand you choose, always use a surge protector that matches your RV's electrical service. Seraphina is a 50-amp RV, so we use a 50-amp Power Watchdog. Choosing the correct amperage helps provide the best protection for your RV's electrical system and appliances.

Water Quality and Protection
Not all campground water is created equal.
Water quality can vary significantly from one campground to the next. Some parks have excellent water, while others may have sediment, unpleasant tastes, or mineral buildup that can affect your plumbing and appliances over time.
That's why we never connect to campground water without first using a quality water filtration system and an adjustable water pressure regulator.
A good water filter helps improve taste, reduce sediment, and protect the plumbing components inside Seraphina. Equally important is a water pressure regulator, which helps prevent damage caused by excessively high water pressure at campgrounds.

Sewer Setup
Let's be honest.
Nobody gets into RVing because they're excited about sewer connections.
However, having a reliable sewer setup makes campground life significantly easier.
A quality sewer hose, clear elbow, sewer support, and proper fittings can eliminate a lot of frustration and mess.
These are the items we currently use and recommend:

Pro Tip: One thing we've learned is that not all campground sewer hookups are created equal. Be sure to purchase enough hose length and the correct fittings for your RV and campsite setup. Having an extra section of hose and a few common adapters can save a lot of frustration when the campground connection is farther away than expected.

Outdoor Cooking
One of our favorite parts of RV life is cooking outdoors.
After researching several outdoor cooking options, we decided on the Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Outdoor Grill & Smoker. One of the biggest reasons was that it operates on electricity rather than propane.
We liked the idea of reducing our propane consumption and not having to worry about carrying additional propane bottles for outdoor cooking. Simply plug it in, fire it up, and start cooking.
